Kala is a Thamizhachi who loves simplicity and being authentic. She faces challenges with confidence and courage to facilitate compassion. Kala was in the Singapore Armed Forces's pioneer batch of female commissioned officers who trained alongside male officers in the new Tri-Service initiative in 1990. She later became a platoon commander of the Officer Cadet School’s Women Wing. Since leaving SAF, she continues to make a meaningful difference in the field of adult education and seeks to develop a future competent workforce. Fueled again by courage and love for country, Kala stood in the 2020 General elections, as an alternative political voice for Singaporeans.
