“I was surprised at how anxious I got doing this. I’ve done nude yoga, and feel pretty confident about my body. After pondering on this I’m certain that a lot of my anxiety stems from the implicit understanding that as a queer person, my identity is policed by the state. And because the act of undressing is so innately tied to my ideas of erotic capital, doing so in public made this fear extremely palpable. I wore some gear today as a bit of a statement against some of the kink-shaming that still happens within queer communities. We should all carry our bodies with pride.”
